Perdita's Story
Life
Hi Everyone,
Let's start from the beginning. I grew up in the Great City of Compton, where I attended El Segundo Elementary and Vanguard Jr. I graduated from Lutheran Hi School in LA, and California Lutheran University, in Thousand Oaks. Eventhough, I graduated from Lutheran Hi my heart lies with the Big Ten! I attended summer school and all the football games at Centennial!
After graduating from California Lutheran College, I started working for Channel 4 News in Burbank.
I retired, March, 2010, from Channel 4 after 29 years where I worked with some of the top people in the news business. Bryant Gumble, Beverly White,Tom Brokaw, Fritz Coleman and Jess Marlow.
I am currently enjoying my retirement. The highlight of my life was in the summer of 2004 when my husband, Willie Brown, promoted The First Annual Hollywood Park Jazz Festival on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Hollywood Park Race Track in Inglewood, CA. attendance. It was a Jazz Festival that turned into a serious party!
This has been a very exciting time in my life! God has truly blessed my husband and I. I have also been blessed with three children and eight grandchildren, one set of twins.
I currently write an E-Blast Entertainment Newsletter of events that are happening in LA and surrounding areas (concerts, theater, movies, music etc)
One of the Blogs I wrote was published in a local newspaper, Inglewood Today. The story was about, a town near Bakersfield,called Allensworth. Discovered in the early 1900's by African Americans.
